Soil Health training cum workshop was organized at Cornell University Ithaca New York USA from 5-10 Aug 2015 . Dr Binay Kumar Agarwal from BAU Ranchi , Mr. Ashok Kumar and Md. Mannan from Pradan joined the training cum workshop from India . Extension officers, student and farmers from different parts of the world attended the training program.
D G (David) Rossiter, Associate Professor (Soil & Crop Sciences) at Cornell University appreciated the work done by Dr B K Agarwal and Birsa Agricultural University on soil sampling and analysis and called it an ‘eye opener’. He has expressed interest in collaboratively analyzing the geo statistical data collected by Dr B K Agarwal and to collectively work in the field in future.
The program was very successful covering all aspects of soil health issues including physical and biological health, crop cover, minimum tillage aggregate stability, organic carbon and soil respiration. Very extensive indoor and outdoor training was organized.
