Miss Veena Kumari Tudu, a Ph.D Scholar, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, BAU, Ranchi, has been awarded with International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) Scholar award for the year 2017 for her Ph.D research work titled “Genetics of Drought Tolerance in Maize (Zea mays L.) Under Different Potassium Levels” under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Manigopa Chakraborty, Chief Scientist cum University Professor, BAU, Ranchi. Her research is focused on identification of a maize hybrid which can perform under moisture stress condition and at adequate amounts of potassium with maximum efficiency in ultimate targeted area. Among many highly qualified applicants from around the world she was one of 37 students to receive this prestigious International award.
