Summer Internship Training Programme 2018

One month Summer Internship Training Programme started in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi. 12 students enrolled in this course from different University from Jharkhand, West Bengal, UP and UK. The training programme will run from 18th June, 2018 to 17th July, 2018 in the department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Ranchi under faculty of Agriculture.

Course coordinator of the programme Dr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar told that trainees will learn from basic of agriculture to soil testing methods. In this course more focus will be given on practical classes than theory. He also informed that all faculty members of the department are involved in the course to cover the syllabus.

During orientation of the course, Dr. D K Shahi, Chairman of the department told that syllabus includes soil sampling, plant nutrient deficiency symptoms, their cause and remedy, micronutrients, biofertilizer production, soil testing procedure etc.

Dr. B K Agarwal emphasizes on Pedological and edaphological concepts of soil and Soil testing – a diagnostic tool for determining the nutrient needs of plants.

During inaugural session of the programme, Dr. N C Gupta, Dr. P Mahapatra, Dr. Arvind Kumar and other faculties were also present.
